Mother's Day Poem
Do you need a Mother's Day writing assignment for your elementary classroom? I used this project with my third graders. Give them this poem, either on paper, the chalkboard, or overhead. MY MOM Loving, Funny, Smart Brown Hair and Brown Eyes Always Playing, Cooking, Reading Loves Pizza, Spaghetti, Tacos Hates Spiders and Cities Would Like To Live In Hawaii I LOVE YOU Now they will have to come up with a poem for their mom. I gave my students a form so they could fill in the missing words. Title: MY MOM Line one: 3 adjectives (personality) Line two: 2 adjectives (appearance) Line three: 3 verbs (something she does) Line four: 3 foods she loves Line five: 2 things she hates Line six: something she would love to do Line seven: I LOVE YOU The edited poem is written on colored, lined paper. Glue a photo of the family (or child) and the poem to a large piece of cardstock. Using markers, have the student decorate around the two. Laminate and send home for Mother's Day.
